Operation Divine Wind ResultsOperation Divine Wind Dates Steve Irwin: December 16, 2011 - March 6, 2012 By the Numbers: 17,000 = Number of miles that Sea Shepherd chased the whaling fleet At any one time, 2 to 3 Japanese ships were pulled out of the hunt in order to chase Sea Shepherd vessels 3 = Number of months we chased the Japanese whaling fleet
768 = Number of whales saved |
The Japanese Whaling Fleet needed to make 80% of their quota just to break even. 80% would have been 828 whales.
Our goal is to sink the Japanese Whaling Fleet economically. To date, the ICR is about $200 million in debt. If the whaling fleet returns next year, Sea Shepherd will be ready.
With your support, we hope to lower the kill number to 0! Please help us in this effort!
